Prior authorization

Prior authorization: explained and handled by us

A prior authorization does not mean your doctor prescribed the wrong thing. It means your insurer wants documentation before paying. We help coordinate the process.

What we do

Identify the prior authorization requirement when we run your insurance

Contact your prescriber's office directly so you do not have to manage it alone

Coordinate the clinical documentation your prescriber needs to submit

Track the prior authorization status with your insurance company

Notify you when approved and your prescription is ready

If denied, discuss options such as appeal, alternative medication, or cash price

Typical timeline: Many standard prior authorization requests resolve within 1 to 3 business days.

Need help with a prior authorization? Visit our contact page. We handle these every day.

Tips to lower your prescription costs

1

Ask about the generic version first

Generic medications contain the same active ingredient at significantly lower cost. We always let you know when a generic is available.

2

Check whether your cash price beats your copay

Sometimes your insurance copay may be higher than the available cash price for the same medication. We help you compare when possible.

3

Ask about manufacturer savings cards

Many brand-name manufacturers offer copay assistance cards. Ask us if one is available for your medication.

4

Use Med Sync to avoid expensive emergency fills

Medication Synchronization aligns eligible refills to one date so you are less likely to run out or need a rushed fill.

5

Apply for Medicare Extra Help if eligible

The Medicare Extra Help program can significantly reduce prescription costs for qualifying patients. Visit our contact page and we will help check your eligibility.

6

Ask for an MTM review

A medication checkup can identify duplicate therapies and lower-cost alternatives. Many Medicare Part D patients may qualify for covered MTM services.
